Santa María Golf and Country Club is a popular golf course for any level of player.
The course traces the contours of two valleys in which the vegetation, streams and lakes form natural hazards and offer a unique picturesque fairway with views to the Mediterranean sean and surrounding mountainside.
If you have a good drive then you will find this course extremely playable and probably improve your handicap on your first visit. However even if you do not hit too well off the tee the course is lenient enough for you to still make pars with a few accurate recovery shots.
The first couple of holes play quite close together, however when you reach the 6th hole, the course stretches its length and there is plenty of space to go for long shots off the tee.
The fairways are always in fantastic condition whilst most tees are in elevated positions giving you a great visibility of your target area. The back nine in particular offers some outstanding holes, with a good variety of very short par 3's and long par 5īs.
The country club has some excellent non-golfing facilities such as a restaurant and bar above the clubhouse with views watching over the tee of the first hole. Santa María is a highly recommended course.
